Tudor was started in 1926 by Hans Wilsdorf, founder of Rolex. Initially, Tudor was known for producing watches for the military and professional divers From the 1960s to 1980s. Tudor's intended purpose was to offer a more affordable watch than Rolex while maintaining Rolex-like quality. Beginning in 2015, Tudor launched its first in-house movement for its Pelagos and North Flag watches. The Tudor Black Bay series has really been the centerpiece watch for the brand in recent years.
