Description
Girard-Perregaux debuted an innovative "Earth to Sky" motif for its 2019 collection. This theme has been applied to both new and old timepieces (such as the Laureato Absolute) and older pieces (like the 1966). The term alludes to the unexpected combination of hues that blends Earth's blue hue with the blackness of space. The Ceramic Skeleton Laureato, a hallmark timepiece from the company, now sports this "Earth to Sky" motif.
The Laureato Skeleton is the base that Girard-Perregaux has selected for this "Earth to Sky" Edition. It is housed in a 42mm black ceramic case with polished and brushed surfaces, just like the metallic versions. The case is styled like a luxury sports watch and is finished in full black ceramic. It has an octagonal bezel, a cushion-shaped case, a slender profile, and an integrated band.
Deep blue is the color of the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton "Earth to Sky" Edition's "face." A skeleton watch, as you might assume, has no conventional dial; instead, the sapphire crystal displays the movement's hollowed-out main plate, which is encircled by an inner flange that the hour indexes float on. Both components have a PVD coating.
