Description
The Laureato has a distinctive style featuring a combination of shapes with an interesting contrast. The octagonal bezel offers unusual reflections of light as the sides gently flow into each other across convex and concave surfaces. In the Laureato Skeleton, the octagon reveals the intricate architecture of its pared-back movement – hand-finished as ever by masters in precision engineering.
The Laureato Skeleton was created by Girard-Perregaux watchmakers as an ode to fine mechanics. Its stunning openworked components, all adorned by hand in an original and contemporary style, provide a view deep into the heart of its spectacular automatic caliber. This movement, which is based on the well-known GP1800 caliber, is galvanized (anthracite gray ruthenium) and operated like a metal net. Because of the rhodium-plated geartrain, the eye can track the movement of energy. The eyes come to rest on the sweep seconds at 10 o'clock borne by the seconds wheel throughout this journey of discovery into the heart of a mechanical labyrinth comprised of 173 components, including 25 gems. They are then enthralled by the regulating organ's rapid oscillations, which have a big variable inertia balance pulsing at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour). The functions of this watch include; hours, minutes & small seconds.
