Description

Developed in 2005 in collaboration with Harry Winston’s Rare Timepieces and the watchmaker Christophe Claret, the highly inventive Glissière tourbillon was the winner of the coveted Grand Prix d’Horlogerie Technical Watch Category in 2007. The movement, Caliber CC-CHW97A, features a skeletonized tourbillon with a 51-hour power reserve wound by two platinum weights allowed to slide freely on metal rods.

As the weights move independently back and forth, they wind the mainspring via a platinum fan-form gearing on the reverse.

Visually from the front, the wearer sees two round mechanisms, the one on the left being the complete winding barrel & gear train and the one on the right being the flying tourbillon, both of which are also visible through four apertures cut into the rectangular white gold case, in addition to the front and back display windows. Found at the lower edge of the dial is an innovative interpretation of the traditional power reserve indicator, this time displayed in a linear display with a sliding marker. The design of the movement and moving blocks draws comparisons to the wheels, sliding pistons, and rails of a steam locomotive.
