The UR-111 is a sophisticated timepiece with mechanical brilliance and a Blade Runner-inspired design that epitomizes Urwerk at its finest. The UR-111 lacks the signature satellite hour hands that we have come to identify with the brand, but it is nonetheless completely Urwerk in terms of appearance and feel. It boasts a number of creative displays, including leaping hours, linear retrograde minutes, and optical fiber-augmented seconds.
The UR-111's display is made to allow you to check the time without taking your hands off the flight controls or steering wheel, much like a driver's watch. Just above the lugs at the bottom of the case are three circular sapphire crystal glass compartments that can be opened with a gentle wrist pivot to reveal the time. A revolving cone that makes a sharp jump on the hour allows jumping hours to be read on the left side of the dashboard.
