Description

The extremely intricate reference 5101 watch has the subtlety and elegance that are so characteristic of Patek Philippe. Respectfully called the "Marathon Runner," it was introduced for the first time in 2003 and only 500 platinum models were made. Its remarkable triple-stepped flanks are evocative of the renowned Art Deco designs from the 1920s and 1930s by the firm. It fits the wrist well because of the convex sapphire crystal that follows the curved case. The manufacturing caliber 28-20/222, which combines two uncommon complexities in a constrained physical space, is what Patek Philippe outfitted reference 5101 with. Two mainspring barrels hold the energy needed for the 10-day power reserve; they can be fully wound with around 100 revolutions.
