This timepiece was based on a timepiece from the 1960s made by Zenith for a local Italian distributor.
The caliber 405B El Primero is a flyback mechanism-equipped, high-beat 5Hz (36,000 bph) 30-minute chronograph. (The majority of El Primero timepieces lack a flyback function.) The movement features a 50-hour power reserve and is date-free for a sleeker appearance.
Under the slightly domed and AR-coated sapphire crystal, the Pilot Cronometro TIPO CP-2's gracefully polished hands and mainly matte dial score highly for legibility in all lighting conditions.
This is a limited edition watch made specifically for the US market, with 50 pieces available.
